Empowering Communities Through Recycling With Clean Vibes and KARI Foundation

Image

An ongoing partnership between Clean Vibes and KARI Foundation has resulted in over $30,000 raised for the charity through recycling beverage containers at major NSW events and festivals.

Overview

KARI Foundation is Australia’s leading not-for-profit organisation that supports Aboriginal communities through quality programming and services. Clean Vibes and KARI Foundation launched our partnership in April last year and has since created multiple employment opportunities for KARI community members.

As Australia’s leading waste management company, Clean Vibes collects containers across NSW’s entertainment venues and festivals. This is further supported by our sister company, City Return and Earn, an automated depot that recycles these beverage containers for the NSW container deposit scheme.

Solution

Clean Vibes’ strategic partnership with the KARI Foundation focuses on:

  • Collecting recycling containers, such as cans and bottles, at major NSW events and festivals
  • Operating City Return and Earn, an automated depot for container returns
  • Providing employment opportunities for KARI community members in both depot and event management roles

This collaboration not only promotes sustainability but also fosters community engagement and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Outcome and Key Accomplishments

The partnership has raised over $30,000 for the KARI Foundation, significantly contributing to the charity's mission. Through our cans and bottles recycling, we can both offer employment to the foundation while donating part of our profits to them.

According to Casey Ralph, CEO of the KARI Foundation, “We are deeply grateful to Clean Vibes for its incredible donation. This donation will help us in our mission to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and provide them with the necessary resources to thrive."

Impact of the Partnership:

  • Raised over $30,000 for the KARI Foundation through beverage container recycling
  • Created employment opportunities for KARI community members
  • Supported sustainability and community engagement through effective waste management

Clean Vibes and the KARI Foundation’s partnership exemplifies the positive impact of combining sustainability initiatives with community support, empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across NSW.
