Ultra Music Festival is one of Melbourne's premier electronic music events, attracting a vibrant crowd of music enthusiasts. Held at the iconic Flemington Racecourse, the event is renowned for its electrifying atmosphere and stellar line-up.

With over 60,000 guests attending the event, maintaining cleanliness and sustainability was a significant challenge. Clean Vibes had the honour of being one of the first external event clean-up contractors to work at this prestigious venue, and we delivered outstanding results.

Solution

Clean Vibes' approach to Melbourne’s Ultra Music Festival waste management included:

• Pre-Event Planning: Developing a detailed action plan to address waste management and cleaning requirements specific to the Flemington Racecourse.
• On-Site Waste Management: Placing separate bins for general waste, recycling, and organics to ensure the event stayed clean at all times.
• Continuous Cleaning: Our team engaged 126 members from the local community, working to clean the entire venue before attendees arrived each day, during the event and after the festival concluded.
• Confetti After Event Cleanup: Special attention was given to the confetti cannon effects, with our team meticulously combing the field to remove every piece of confetti from the grass.
• Waste Sorting and Recycling: Staff sorted waste at a compound located at the back of the venue to ensure proper disposal and recycling of materials, diverting a significant portion of waste from landfills.
